Please find below a list of tools I commonly work on, as well as other general information about drywall taping tool repair.

Typically a Rebuild is more than just the head, I would go through the head and replace the standard wear parts, including:
- Tape wheels or more commonly known as “teeth”
- Wear bushings
- Plastic liners
- Plunger Cup (seal inside tube)
- Cable
- Blade
- Needle
A basic Taper Overhaul with standard wear parts would be $450, not including “hard parts” which would be chains, sprockets, shafts, etc. as these are not standard wear parts.
Generally, tapers should be tuned up every 6 months if the user is stringing 6 or more rolls of tape (500 ft roll) per day Most guys only use 4-10 per week.
I recommend doing a tune up at least once a year for the average user.
