Tools

Please find below a list of tools I commonly work on, as well as other general information about drywall taping tool repair.

Brands Serviced:

  • Tape Tech 1990 and newer
  • Columbia  2020 and newer
  • Drywall Master 2010 and newer

All other brands/Tools contact me for advice or approval.

Typically a Rebuild is more than just the head, I would go through the head and replace the standard wear parts, including:

  • Tape wheels or more commonly known as “teeth”
  • Wear bushings
  • Plastic liners
  • Plunger Cup (seal inside tube)
  • Cable
  • Blade
  • Needle

A basic Taper Overhaul with standard wear parts would be $450, not including “hard parts” which would be chains, sprockets, shafts, etc. as these are not standard wear parts.

Generally, tapers should be tuned up every 6 months if the user is stringing 6 or more rolls of tape (500 ft roll) per day Most guys only use 4-10 per week.

I recommend doing a tune up at least once a year for the average user.
